Jim Deitz
President – The Franchise Doctor
The Franchise Doctor, Inc, a Denver-based consulting firm with an office in Atlanta, Georgia. We believe that the better informed a buyer is, the greater the probability he or she will choose the right franchise for his or her needs. Our exclusive FranchiseFit Entrepreneurial Surveys and our book, Insiders’ Secrets to Buying a Franchise, help people find a franchised business that makes good use of their talents and skills.
The Franchise Doctor also develops franchising programs for companies with a proven record of success. We begin with a feasibility study, develop fee and royalty structures, assist in creating the Franchise Disclosure Document and License Agreement, write training manuals and train you and your staff to sell franchises. Our clients report that we offer more thorough services at more competitive prices than others in the field.
Jim’s entire work history has been closely involved with entrepreneurship.
In 1989, Jim’s company narrowed its focus to offering franchise development services and selling franchises for a number of national companies. In 1996, the company posted a website
called “The Franchise Doctor” which has helped thousands of potential franchise buyers around the world gain better insight into the advantages of franchising.
Jim was a member of the Board of Directors of the Southeast Franchise Forum for over 15 years and spoke regularly at the University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, Georgia State
University, the Georgia Association of Business Brokers, the International Business Brokers’ Association, as well as the Southeast Franchise Forum.
Jim has been praised by his clients and peers for working tirelessly to ensure that buyers and sellers understand the benefits and risks of the franchise relationship and base their decisions accordingly. In 1999, he helped develop the FranchiseFit Entrepreneurial Survey to assist buyers in discovering their innate behavioral traits and learning how these predict success. Jim then helps prospect match their profile with different franchise offerings to ensure that they achieve their true potential–operating a business that they love. The Franchise Doctor’s website has received recognition for its educational content, regular updates, franchise reviews and franchise system recommendations. It often is ranked first for popular franchise search terms in Google databases.
In ’81, Jim began his indoctrination into franchising when he joined a franchised business brokerage office selling small businesses. After a short time, Jim was named Regional Manager
for the franchisor and traveled the Southeast training agents in 50 independently owned franchises. In 1987, he co-founded The Andover Group, a franchisor of business brokerage
offices in Atlanta.
In 2012, Jim relocated to the Denver area to better serve the west coast and mountain states.
